The Magic of Absorption

KOCHO Co. was established in 1963 at the foot of the great Mt. Fuji in Japan.

Initially, we began producing sanitary napkins, which allowed us to master the materials and inner-workings of absorption pads. We then expanded into adult and baby diaper production, and are now almost entirely manufacturing pet care related products such as potty pads and cat litter.

Since the beginning, we have always focused on developing and enhancing the absorbent materials within our products, which is evident in the quality items and customer satisfaction that our clients have come to expect. The core of our business focuses around the Super Absorbent Polymers that we use in our products.

The main characteristics that we consider in SAPs are absorption and water retention. Tissues and pulps absorb water up to 10 to 20 times their weight, while SAPs absorb water up to 200 to 1,000 times and urine up to 30 to 70 times their weight. SAPs also boast exceptional water retention levels that prevent leaking. These are the properties that make technology an integral part of our current and future business model.

Competing in the potty pad market requires not only having great products, but proving to be a leader in the technological sector as well. It is especially important for manufacturers to keep the needs of the pets and their owners in mind when developing and making products. We are constantly striving to find new ways to use modern technology in various combinations in order to improve our SAPs, non-woven fabrics, tissues, and pulps. Thanks in part to technologies like SAPs, we can continue developing new and innovative products that keep customers and their four-legged friends happy and coming back for more.
